SSH Telnet
Discover what Telnet is and exactly where it’s utilized.
Secure Shell, also known as SSH, is a cryptographic network protocol that is used to execute commands on a remote server or to exchange data between a website hosting server and a client. As the information exchanged by the 2 sides is encrypted, a third party cannot intercept it, which makes SSH an ideal means of managing a web hosting account. The commands which may be executed depend on the type of hosting service. On a shared server, for instance, the options are limited as you simply won't have root access to the website hosting server, so you could just create/move/delete files, create and unpack archives, export and import databases, and so on. They're all actions that are performed within the shared hosting account and don't require a higher level of access. Through a virtual or a dedicated server, you'll have the option to set up server-side software or to restart the web server or only a specific service (web server, database server, etc.). SSH commands are submitted with a command line, but if you do not use a UNIX-like Operating System, there are tons of apps for other OSs, that you can employ to connect to the remote web server as well.

SSH Telnet in Semi-dedicated Servers
SSH access is included as standard with some of our
semi-dedicated server plans, while with others you will be able to add it through the hosting Control Panel if required - even only for the current month. In either case, you could activate and de-activate the function with only one mouse click through the SSH section of the Control Panel. In the same place, you will discover the server name, the port number and the username needed to connect to our platform. You shall also find a box where you can easily enter the password that you'd like to use, since it doesn't need to be the same as the one you use to log into the Control Panel. For better security, you could also change it as often as you require. A complete list of the commands that can be executed inside a semi-dedicated account is supplied in our Knowledge Base, along with the syntax and a couple of instances. SSH Telnet in VPS Servers
All our
VPS server offers include SSH access as standard, so you won't have to add any upgrades or enable anything - as soon as the server is set up and you receive its login information, you shall be able to connect via its primary IP address and the login credentials which you've chosen throughout the signup procedure. Your server shall be isolated from the others on the physical machine, so you will be able to manage just about everything via a command line, including server-side software installations and reboots. This way, you are able to work with your files, databases and any applications you install in a fast and secure way.
